Project Manager HR2-00041

Job Purpose

The Project Manager oversees the manufacturing process of assigned customer parts which includes the development of the process design, as well as supporting and managing the production of parts to meet customer requirements.

  • Develop, instill and maintain cost effective methods to process, monitor progress of production, quality and costs.

  • Manage the accuracy of Open Work Order Reports.

  • Communicate fully and frequently with area supervisors on matters related to project status, efficiencies and improvements.

  • Work with Sales and assist with preparing job quotes.

  • Review customer purchase orders and contractual requirements, and communicate all relevant requirements to the Production Group.

  • Coordinate delivery schedules, changes and expedite requests.

  • Work closely with Scheduling, Production leaders and QC to achieve the highest quality product on time and on budget.

  • Provide technical help to both the production team and Sales: negotiating engineering revisions, submitting and negotiating disposition of non-conforming product, proposing repair or rework solutions as needed.

  • Ensure that all procedures and methods conform to customer contract requirements.

  • Supports department goals through outstanding service, attention to detail, and demonstrating a collaborative, positive environment with colleagues.

Desired Skills/Experience

Highly preferred:

  • High level of technical written and oral ability

  • High level of professionalism

  • Machine shop and/or Manufacturing production experience (precision machining)

  • Ability to manage competing priorities

  • Teamwork; ability to work with integrated product teams

     

    Preferred qualifications include:

  • Working knowledge of GD&T

  • Background in Lean 6 Sigma

  • 4 year degree or combination of education and mechanical engineering/project manager experience

  • Oil & Gas Industry experience
