QA Inspector HR2-00039

Job Purpose

The Quality Inspector validates product or process control parameters to the requirements of the quality plan using the specified techniques and tooling.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Knowing and performing the basic quality terms, definitions and concepts

  • Basic statistical terms and techniques, how to plot data and how to recognize out of control conditions

  • Know and perform types of measurement, measurement terminology and the different types of measurement scales

  • Know and perform the difference between accuracy and precision and be able to select the appropriate measuring tools and techniques.

  • Measuring using surface plate layouts.

  • Identifying and recognizing inspection errors and initiate resolution. 

  • Basic calibration knowledge.

  • Read and interpret blueprints and know definitions of critical, major and minor characteristics.

  • General knowledge of ASME Y14.5M, working knowledge of GD&T, and understand the Cartesian coordinate system.

  • Use inspection planning tools and perform a product audit; determine sample size for lots; pull random samples.

  • Identify and report non-conforming material.

  • Understand traceability (product, material and calibration)

  • Knowledge of basic mathematical operations and perform measurement conversions; be able to solve for x; add and subtract degrees, minutes, and seconds.

  • Daily workstation surveillance.

  • Random key characteristic (KC) inspection.

  • Proficiency and accuracy of quality plans.

  • Final product acceptance.

  • Non-conforming part review.

  • Assemble and deliver measuring equipment.

  • Brief Quality Inspection Lead on all quality issues.

Required Skills/Experience

Prior experience in similar manufacturing environment preferred.
