Job Purpose

Perform QC Shaped charge testing, following detailed training and Supervisor instructions

Key Duties & Responsibilities

The Test Technician 1:

  • Comply with safety and quality policies and procedures.
  • Prepares shaped charge set-up for testing using steel plates, water and air standoff rings per work instructions
  • Performs related tasks in support of shaped charge assembly procedures.
  • Records all test data on the QC shot sheet and promptly reports any discrepancies to Team Leaders, Supervisors, Quality Control and Set-up Technicians.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The Test Technician 2 additionally: 

  • Demonstrates above average competence as a QC technician I, typically with a minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience (total).
  • Becomes familiar with the CAC Team Leader roles and duties and should be able to stand in as needed for back-up to either QC Technician III or CAC Team Leader.
  • Performs duties with a minimum of supervision, and with thoroughness and completeness.
  • Performs special procedures and processes with a minimum of supervision.
  • Performs duties of or act as “back-up” to other positions in the Energetics Division.
  • Demonstrates excellent understanding and “why” of safety, quality and work instructions.

  • Demonstrates strong leadership behavior, acting as a positive role model for others.
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge in quality aspects of good/ failing charge specifications.
  • Becomes familiar with specifications per charge part numbers.
  • Becomes familiar with liner positions of charges being tested. (I.C.C. Position)
  • Other duties as assigned.

The Test Technician 3 additionally: 

  • Demonstrates above average competence as a QC technician 2, typically with a minimum of 6 to 8 years of experience.
  • Understands the CAC Team Leader duties and serves as back-up to that position.
  • Performs duties without direct supervision.
  • Performs special procedures and processes with no direct supervision.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Experience

  • Able to work in a moderate to fast paced hands-on assembly process.
  • Good hands-on mechanical aptitude and ability.

  • Able to understand, learn and follow written and verbal safety, quality and work instructions.

  • Possesses basic mathematical skills.

  • Actively seeks methods for continual improvement.

  • Able to understand shaped charge performance and requirements.

  • Able to understand, learn and read measuring devices correctly.

  • Able to cooperate, and work well with others as a team.

  • High school or GED degree preferred.

 

Desired Skills/Experience

  • Able to meet ATF & regulatory security requirements.

  • Must be US Citizen, or lawful permanent resident of the United States (student Visa does not qualify).

  • Maintains a clean work area, is neat and well organized.
