Cost Accountant - PAMPA HR7-00246
Job Purpose
Will be primarily responsible for analyzing and supporting the manufacturing cost and inventory functions of Hunting Titan. The Cost Accountant will work with members of the Finance and Production teams to ensure that production and inventory costs are correctly accounted for and accurately reported to all stakeholders. This position requires on-site presence and acceptable attendance to perform the essential duties.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
• Work with production to maintain accurate BOM’s and Routes.
• Monitor production and purchase price variances on a routine basis.
• Timely publish and distribute variance reports and review with appropriate production personnel.
• Create and maintain absorption analysis worksheets for each manufacturing location
• Make recommendations for changes in overhead rates for cost roll.
• Perform semi-annual cost roll duties as assigned.
• Observe production processes and make recommendations for improvement.
• Make recommendations for blended standard costs for items that are built both internally and externally.
• Analyze monthly margin report.
• Provide support to auditors for cost related areas.
• Perform cost-volume-profit analysis for all locations and departments.
• Perform monthly inventory reconciliations.
• Assist with aged inventory analysis as needed.
• Assist with developing on hand inventory targets and provide monthly update reports by location.
• Assist with month end close process as directed.
• Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Experience
A. Education and Training
• High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Cost Accounting experience preferred.
• CPA preferred but not required.
B. General Requirements
• Five (5) plus years’ progressive experience in all aspects of accounting and financial reporting.
• Able to learn fast, able to manage simultaneous projects under tight schedules, relaxed under pressure.
• Able to work independently and in a team environment.
• High initiative level.
• Highly detail oriented and organized.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven leadership and problem analysis skills.
• Able to travel as needed.
• Must not have any personal or legal domestic or international travel restrictions.
C. Technical Requirements / Skills
• Up to date knowledge of GAAP and/or IFRS.
• Able to read and understand technical and non-technical documents as related to contracts and purchasing.
• Able to interface with both technical and non-technical personnel.
• Able to provide improvement to processes as required.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite (specifically Excel and Word).
D. Certificates, Licenses & Registrations
• Must have a valid driver’s license and record that conforms to company’s insurance policies, ATF, DOT, and State of other required Hazmat training.
E. Work Authorization / Security Clearance:
• Authorized to work in United States.
• Able to meet ATF & regulatory security requirements.
