Job Purpose

The Technical Support Engineer’s primary responsibility is to provide industry specific technical and operational knowledge of Cased Hole Logging & Completion tools and systems to the Plant Managers, the Engineering Staff and other ID Management and Technical personnel.  His duties will also include the daily support of engineering and manufacturing operations, and as necessary, interfacing directly with customers to support Sales or to provide product technical training at the customer’s location. 

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Adheres to all safety standards and requirements, and works closely with General Manager, HR and HS&E to provide a safe workplace for all of the Division’s employees.

  • To Provide a Cased Hole Logging & Perforating and Industry Best Practices knowledge base to the Instrument Division’s Engineering and Manufacturing staff.

  • Promptly respond to customer inquiries via such methods as phone, through on-line networks, and/or in person.

  • Plans, schedules, and makes periodic customer visits for the purpose of providing product training or assisting with technical sale calls

  • Communicates with customers to help them better understand how to use the HT‘s products properly, safely, effectively, and productively.

  • Assists in the production of written Operational, Maintenance and Technical documents and manuals.

  • Assist in the Implementation and the maintaining of effective quality measuring techniques to ensure that HT products adhere to corporate quality specifications and meet or exceed all applicable industry standards.

  • Interacts with customers to determine their needs for new instruments or tools, and then assist Engineering in defining the design criteria and specifications to manufacture products to meet customer requirements.

  • Assist in the analysis of customer’s design specifications and proposals to determine feasibility of the design and its manufacturability.

  • Analyses competitors and their products, and will work with the ID Management team to develop strategies and products to protect and advance Hunting Titan’s market share. 

  • Completes, maintains, and processes pertinent paperwork and records of all customers requested or internally generated new designs that was personally researched and analyzed.

  • Communicates with company officers, department heads, and other division reps as necessary to make the company aware of customer issues and assist in the prompt resolution of those issues

Required Skills/Experience

  • Must be a self-starter and the ability to work within an origination with minimal supervision.

  • Have good oral and written communication and customer service skills along with the ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical personnel

  • Able to assist in bringing a business case for a new idea or concept to the company. This includes assisting in providing market data to support the idea or concept along with an estimated return on investment.

  • Excellent technical writing skills along with the ability to present technical presentations. Presentations may include topics on the research, development, and launching of divisional products to employees and customers.

  • Ability to proficiently use computer software such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Education and Training

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or Geophysics (or equivalent training and experience).

  • Minimum of five years of Cased Hole Logging & Perforation Field Operations experience with a Service Company or equivalent

Technical Requirements / Skills

  • Sound understanding of Cased Hole Logging & Perforating Tools’ theory of operations and their applications.

  • Proficient in using Cased Hole logging software and systems such as the SDS Warrior Logging System.

  • Ability to read and understand typical Cased Hole Logs, i.e.- Sonic Bond, Gamma Ray, Neutron, Caliper, Magnetic Inspection and Production Logging,

C. Certificates, Licenses & Registrations

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and record that conforms to company’s insurance policies, ATF, DOT, and State or other required Hazmat training.

Must have a valid US Passport and be able to travel to International locations to conduct customer training and other business activities.
